IRSC Service Learning Community Partners
Community Partners are not-for-profit organizations in our local community that have opened their doors to student volunteers in the interest of getting assistance with specific needs and deepening the learning experience for the students. Thus, this relationship serves the College’s instructional goals while providing the organization with the new ideas, new perspectives, and new resources.
Service Learning projects must be designed with both the instructional outcomes and the Community Partner’s goals in mind. Unless these outcomes and goals are compatible and mutually supporting, the project will not serve either the students or the community partner well.
